7 Ways to Enhance Your Twitter Experience

by Matt Hellstrom

Twitter is all the rage on the internet right now. Twitter is a website where you can post little messages, or micro-blogs, and they will be sent out to anyone that is following you. This allows you to tell your friends or acquaintances exactly what you’re doing at a particular time, or all the time, depending on how carried away you get! This can be business or personal related, and should be a combination of the two.

If you’re building a web-based business, some of your “tweets” should be business-oriented. For instance, if you post a new entry to your blog, let your twitter followers know. If you’re watching a webinar that might be helpful to others, let them know.

But you need to find a happy medium. If you just post business tweets, people are going to think you don’t have a life (and they may be right!). This is web 2.0, social networking, and you need to be social. Find something to talk about - anything - other than your business and you’ll keep your followers interested for much longer.

When it comes to joining an online social network, quality not quantity is what you should aim for. There are some great quality websites like Facebook, Orkut, Linked In, and Friendster. However you should join the one that best suits your needs. When it comes to online social networking, keeping all your chickens in one basket may turn out to be a much better strategy as it keeps you from spreading yourself really thin.

Facebook has been the best of the lot and that has been because it meets my personal and professional needs.

It wasn’t really difficult for me to select Facebook, because all my friends are already there! You can see which site has the most of your friends and start off on that site too.

I am going to share some tips on how I was able to use Facebook successfully and I am sure you will agree that these are generic enough for you to use them to good effect. So read on.

Social Media Marketing on Facebook

by Derrick Markotter

How would you like to make $25,000 in the next three weeks? Brian Campbell is an Internet marketer who’s shown people exactly how to do that. You can use the same techniques on all the social networking sites, like Orkut, Hi5, MySpace and Bebo.

So what’s the secret? I can’t reveal all of Brian’s secrets in this short article - he created a 3 1/2 hour video training program to explain everything. But what I can tell you is this:

The most important thing is to create a network of contacts. Obviously, you can start by building up your list of friends. If you invite too many people to be your friend too quickly, Facebook will send you a warning message. Between 20 and 30 a day seems to be safe. You can find people to invite by looking through your friends’ lists of friends, and by joining groups and looking through their member lists.

If you’re like me then you’ve probably got way too many apps on your facebook profile and it’s probably not only a bit cluttered and takes forever to scroll to the bottom, but it’s probably also pretty slow to load because of all those apps.

Well apparently Facebook have decided to do something about it..

You may have noticed recently when you logged on you got a new page pop up, giving you the option to move a whole bunch of your apps to your “extended profile”.

facebook extended profile application cleanup

It’s Facebooks new way of helping you tidy up the apps on your profile page, of course it’s also good for them as it will drastically reduce the load on their servers and speed things up.

the bad news is really for those apps that get pushed off your main profile page to your “extended profile” as they are far less likely to be seen and therefore less likely to get added by new users who visit your profile, see the app and add it because they like the look of it.

Is There Life After Myspace And Facebook?

by James M. Crosswell

The success of social networking sites like Blogger, Xanga and YouTube has given birth to a new era in Internet usage. A study by Nielson/NetRatings shows that the top social networking sites experienced a 47% growth in the past year with a whopping 367% growth for MySpace.

Some people are afraid of the potential negative impact these sites may have on our children whereas social scientists and others see it as a beneficial aspect of today’s society. Also applauding the rise of social networking are online marketers who have struck a proverbial goldmine for selling their wares.

The multiple facets of these sites make it possible for the marketer to not only, make enormous returns on the dollars invested, but to actually meet more individuals and companies that they can form a business relationship with. This flexibility is an incredible advantage for like-minded people.

10,000 applications on FaceBook

Apparently there are now over 10,000 applications available for you to play with on your facebook profile!

I think my profile’s clunky and crowded enough already…

I just added another one yesterday though, Sudoku:

I’m a bit of a fan of a quick game of sudoku when I’m in “the smallest room in the house”

I also found an app that will show you the most popular facebook apps, so you can track your favorites and how they rank:

They even have a list of the top100 facebook apps and how many users each has.

Daily Babes on FaceBook

daily babes on facebookThis is one of those “blokes” only apps I guess, and could be considered a bit “bad taste”, but what the heck, they’re pretty girls!

this ap has over 62 thousand people using it, so I’m not the only “male Chauvansit Pig” on facebook. :)

The name pretty much says what it does, you get a new Hi-Res pic of a “babe” every day, you can even “check out their profile”! lol!

There is a privacy setting on this, so you don’t need all your friends knowing you’re a bit of a “purve”…

FaceBook Apps Rock!

I’ve only been on facebook for a few weeks, but I’ve already caught up with a bunch of friends, some who I haven’t been in touch with in over a decade, one even lives on the other side of the damn planet now!

How cool is FaceBook!

It shows how slow I am, I spend all day on the net and FB has to become the 7th most popular (according to Alexa.com) site on the nest before I notice it…

 :???:

now my firends are starting to complain that I’ve got too many Apps on my profile, but there’s so many cool ones to choose from, it’s just not fair!!!

I’ve set up this blog to share my favorites with the world, or at least anyone who manages to stumbleupon.com this blog…
