« Chiropractic Marketing - New Patients from Social Media and SEO The Twitter Slap and How to Handle It »
Looking for new ways to promote your product, service or affiliate? Facebook is now the leading social networking website. With Facebook, there is huge potential for businesses to tap into network marketing. But are you not quite sure about how into this social and marketing phenomenon? If so, please read on.
By getting people to interact with you on Facebook, you begin building a network of interested individuals who might be future customers. This is very beneficial for your list of contacts and customer database. Keep in mind, even if someone does not convert to a sale right away, they still have potential to become a customer. You need to find a way to get them into your sales pipeline, and, hopefully, stay there.
This is accomplished by keeping these points in mind:
1. Be patient. Building your presence on Facebook is going to take some time and energy. As with all business and marketing avenues, success doesn’t happen overnight. Although you could outsource some of your Facebook presence-building, you must be careful that you also adhere to my next point.
2. Be unique. You are unique, right? Well, your Facebook business should also be unique. This is actually the life-blood of Facebook: people coming to express their own unique ideas and opinions. Who would want to connect with some dime-a-dozen business on Facebook? All they have to do is pick up a newspaper to see that. If you want people to be interested in your business and join your Facebook network, you will need to appeal to people’s unique identities.
3. Create discussion. So, individual personality is key. Showing personality, inspiring people and getting their attention is easy when you get a discussion going. For instance, let us say you have a home decorating business. You might want to create a group on Facebook that discusses why some people prefer one type of wallpaper over another. Or, if you really want some attention, create a discussion on whether or not Feng Shui is total bunk. Although this isn’t as informative as traditional advertising, it gets people to your group, and gets them interested in your market.
4. Read the terms of service agreement. For most people, Facebook is a fun, virtual social circle where anything and everything goes. This is not quite the case though. The Facebook website is constantly monitored by their staff to make sure people are not breaking the terms of service agreement. Breaking the terms of service agreement can get your account suspended or even banned. Remember to read the terms of the service agreement carefully before beginning.
