A business could have a look at the more current media like Facebook and Twitter, and wonder whether there’s even a use for company blogs any more. But previous knowledge has shown that there is always a place for this sort of resource. In the past, many businesses acknowledged that their websites just weren’t very welcoming to consumers, as they seemed to be more like pages from their Yearly Reports rather than an interesting website. Once they converted their sites, quite often incorporating a blog, customers started to reply with excitement and a new connection was created.
Dell computers has pointed the way for several years in the blogging arena, it’s said that they were one of the very first companies to embrace this method. Though Dell was a particularly prosperous business, a barrier still existed involving the business and its customers, a great deal of these clients had been finding it challenging to communicate and had frustrating issues that just weren’t being answered. When the company set up to obtain blog entries, the turnaround in its relationship with consumers was outstanding. Precisely the same experience was had by General Motors.

Many real estate investors often ponder over the meaning of social media. How can it help me?
Social media is like “word of mouth” on steroids. It helps build relationships between the consumer and the product or service. In the case of the real estate investor, these consumers can be prospective tenants, buyers or sellers. Social media is not selling, it’s not SPAMMING, and it’s gaining the trust and respect that you need to keep clients coming back. Social media is a two-way conversation. Social media helps your clients find you in many ways.
Through avenues including Facebook, Twitter, blogs and videos, social media is the process in which you post information and prospective or current clients offer feedback or questions in return.
If you put content out on the internet and allow the viewer to communicate with you, then that is social media.

Facebook and Twitter are both social networking sites where you can keep track of friends and family. A few years ago, Facebook tried to buy out Twitter but the deal fell through. Twitter wanted more money than Facebook was offering.
Since Facebook could not buy Twitter, they did the next best thing: they started a Twitter-style update system. Facebook subsequently became much more popular and gained new users.
Twitter does not make money yet. Fortunately, Facebook and Twitter still get along. Facebook may make another offer to purchase the less profitable site.
Twitter is extremely popular with users, and has a very large user base. Unfortunately it does not seem to know how to make money. Twitter does not turn a profit. If they can’t figure out how to change this, they may become desperate enough to take the next offer that comes along.
On the other hand, Facebook is making strong profits. It uses targeted advertising to generate revenue. The site may have enough money to make a very attractive offer to Twitter in the future.

Official Presence on Facebook – Opportunities and Pitfalls
The Internet, as a medium, has opened the doors to a wide range of communication possibilities with customers. The interactive characteristic of the medium also makes it possible for a customer to publish his response to a vast audience. Social networking sites, particularly Facebook, which is getting increasingly popular around the world, have given customers an equal opportunity to communicate as loudly as you about your brand, in a public forum open to the whole world.
On the brighter side, there is a great opportunity to acquire direct and unadulterated feedback from customers, without the need of expensive and time-consuming surveys and research processes. Directly redressing customer queries on the medium itself can help increase brand loyalty. However, as a brand owner, you need to realize the speed and potential of the medium to do good as well as harm.

I often speak with lawyers that are intrigued with the new social media websites. They tell me that they want to get involved using Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter to generate new prospects for their firm. The first question I bring up is do you write a blog?
Advertising for lawyers with social media: I want quick results please.
I think all of us would prefer the shorter easier path if given the option. Unfortunately, this isn’t the best route to take for lawyer marketing with social media. Even though posting an update on Twitter or Facebook can share your thoughts with others, it doesn’t provide the depth that writing a good blog post does. One of the best uses of social media is sharing your blog posts with other Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn users.
If your lawyer marketing efforts are simply status updates on Twitter and Facebook, without any longer, thought out content of your own, then you will be making comments about many things, but adding nothing of substance to the conversation.
