It is very fun and easy to customize your Myspace page. You should make your MySpace profile as unique to your personality as you can. Your profile should represent you and your interests so it will be easy to find new friends that you have commonality with. There are millions of people on MySpace, and there’s enough pre-made layouts and graphics to please everyone. It’s simple to make your MySpace profile unique (in the last paragraph I’ll discuss layout generators which allow further customization). No matter what your interests are, you will be able to find MySpace codes and tweaks to make your profile unique.

Having a list of your own is a *must* if you want to succeed online.

Every guru says it. Ever wonder why?

Because it’s true! ;)
My mailing lists are the single most valuable asset I own online- more valuable even than owning the Directory of Ezines.

With my lists I can build, or rebuild, a business. I’m back at square one without them.

Do you have a list yet?

If not, and you don’t have any money to spend, a website of your own or any traffic, here are four simple ideas you can use today to start building a list of your own!

These are all methods I have used, and I still use *each* of them today.

These methods work. They will work for you too.

Idea 1 - Your Email Signature Line

Right now go to your “sent email” folder and look at the email you sent today. Does your email include an offer for someone to join your list? I’m willing to guess that it does *not.*

Do you know what Twitter is? If not, you should - it’s one of the hottest web 2.0 things going right now! Twitter is a website that enables you to send out little “micro-blogs” of 140 characters or less to anyone that’s following you (that’s like friends in Facebook). You can let people know what you’re doing at any time, and this can be pretty cool. These messages can be business or personal, and should be both.

For you internet marketers, obviously you’re going to want some of your “tweets” to be concerning your business. For example, if you post a new Squidoo lens, tweet it. If you learn about a cool new website, let your followers know.

On the other hand, make sure that you don’t post only business type of posts. If you do, your followers are just going to think you’re pitching them and they either won’t pay attention to what you’re saying, or they’ll “unfollow” you. That’s what social networking, or web 2.0 is all about - being social. Even if you’re totally focused on your business and you don’t do much else, you need to find something, anything, to talk about.

Myspace Privacy Codes - How to Hide Areas on Myspace

by Robin Burrows

For those who have concern with having privacy on MySpace, there are several simple codes that you can utilize to shield your identity from strangers. While many groups, models, and bands are on MySpace to promote their careers, some individuals still prefer to have their pages hidden and protected. Fortunately there are many ways to keep a MySpace profile private.

You may already be aware that you can set your profile on private by editing your profile settings. There are also codes you can find on MySpace resource sites that will hide your profile from anyone who isn’t your friend. One thing that people still don’t like about privacy settings is that anyone can still send private messages, even people who aren’t their friends. If you don’t like the idea of your contact table being viewed by everyone, there are codes you can use to keep it hidden as well.
